Spelling

Bug was covering everything with post-it notes again the other day. I had previously laid down the law and told her that it was fine to stick them on things as long as she wrote the name of the item on the note. This cut down the number of notes, but kept her busy/happy. After a while, I got out a sheet of paper and asked her if she'd write some words for me. She was thrilled. I gave her "easy" ones, but some that she hadn't read before. She got every one. She was so proud of herself.

A visitor!

Bug's "almost brother", Mikey came to visit last Wednesday. She was SO excited. We started off with a walk down to the Chinese Buffet.

Once there, silly faces were made. (I have one of him, too....I'm being nice and not sharing)

Mikey spent the night. Bug insisted that since her bed was big and she was all alone, he should sleep there. After the "big people" watched a movie and Mikey & I played some video games, he did just that. She was thrilled. In the morning she said "and I woke up last night and Mikey was there...I patted his back and went back to sleep". So sweet.

Here they are the next day, just before he left. She must have had just enough time with him, as there was no crying or clinging to him this time.

We can't wait until he visits again.

Fancy Dancer

Bug & I took a bike ride down to one of the local parks today. As part of our town's sesquicentennial celebration, they had Native American Fancy Dancer, Larry Yazzie, performing a show. It was great fun. (except for biking home, uphill, in 90 degree VERY HUMID weather..but we made it)

Our new rig.

Bug & I have been having a grand time on this the past several days. She tends to giggle a lot while riding, because, as she says "we're going so fast". (which we're not, but it IS faster than she goes on her bike) She was especially happy to get her very own cycling gloves and BLUE water bottle.
